Label
Isolation Recordings is a small, independent label based in England, that released its first CD in 1998.
The sound of the label doesn't really fit any single genre and is best defined simply as things we like; whether it's the guitar-driven distortion of Heliconia, the looped guitar and samples of Moth, the eclectic electronica of Roma Kid, the dark ambience of The Troy Enclosure or the feedback, melancholy and perfect pop of Icer.
The label is committed to ensuring all releases come with high-quality artwork and packaging and in (often numbered) limited editions.
Numbers can be as few as 50 copies in the case of the (long sold out) debut CD-R ep by Moth, which was played on the John Peel show.
Designers who have contributed artwork to Isolation releases include String Design, which did the covers for Girl I Need You by Heliconia and Making It Beautiful by Moth, and Ben Curzon, whose design for HAARP by Muse won the NME 2009 best album artwork award. Ben designed the cover for the Roma Kid Centre and Periphery EP.
